NEW CLARIN PARISH CHURCH RISES!
We were fortunate to visit again the Parish of Saint Michael the Archangel in Clarin, Bohol last January 19, and were so overjoyed and grateful that their new parish church is rising! The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) donated an equivalent amount of P65 million for the new structure and the construction work has progressed in such a good pace that it hopes to be completed by September this year in time for their patronal fiesta.
Bahay ng Diyos Foundation, Inc. will fund the Main Altar and Sanctuary of the new parish church, and we have discussed during our site visit the details of this project with their new parish priest, Rev. Fr. Gamaliel Gamas and their architect, Raymund Abarquez, UAP.
Proceeds from our ongoing fundraising projects, especially those who support by availing of our book, ‘ICONS: Windows to the Soul’ by Gerard Sison, will go to our financial assistance to Clarin and Maribojoc. Please help us help them rebuild their parish churches. You may write to inquiry@bahayngdiyos.org or contact our Secretariat at Tel. No. (632) 531-1182 or 623-1089 to know more about us and how you can help the two parishes. Thank you and God bless you!

SAINT MICHAEL THE ARCHANGEL PARISH, CLARIN, BOHOL
Clarín church is a Class C heritage church of the Tagbilaran diocese, meaning it was built during the American colonial period, although Clarin church was founded first as a visita in 1881. The parish was established in 1924 and the church structure that collapsed due to the 7.2 magnitude earthquake on 15 Oct. 2013 was built in 1929 and remodelled in 1991. The parish has a draft design for a new church edifice, which is now being reviewed in consultation with their parishioners and the technical committees of the Diocese. Below is a video on the proposed new church design.

HOLY CROSS PARISH CHURCH (DIOCESAN SHRINE OF ST. VINCENT FERRER), MARIBOJOC, BOHOL
The Jesuits began to minister and founded a visita or mission station as early as 1600. It was only in 1767 or the foundation of the church was laid in 1768 in what used to be a swampy land. It took 18 years of forced labor for the construction to final completion in 1816, that Maribojoc effectively became a parish.1616 -1692 a part of the Maribojoc Church Retablo was built as earlier church. The second begun in1798 and was finished in 1816.
This present church, which is the third begun in 1852 and completed in1872. The original roof was made of tisa (techada de teja, or tejado). It was spared by the ravages of PHIL-AM War and WWII and all natural calamities that visited the island during past centuries. Maribojoc Church has grown to become a holy site of pilgrimage for its inhabitants and for those who live outside its confines. This is due in large measure to its two main object of veneration, the Wooden Cross and The Wooden image of its co-patron, ST. VINCENT FERRER. (Source: http://www.maribojoc.gov.ph)
